## When not to use it

- Making a video from text or a single image with no source clip: every edit starts from a built-in clip or an uploaded video.
- Keeping the subject pixel-identical while only the background changes: use masking, rotoscoping or green-screen compositing in a video editor; a generative edit keeps the subject very close, not identical.
- One continuous edit longer than 30 seconds (15 seconds on reference models): edit sections separately.
- New dialogue, voice-over or lip-sync: the source audio of the selected section is kept; no speech is generated.
- Exact small text, labels or logos that must stay legible in every frame, such as packaging compliance shots.
- Footage or photos of recognizable people who are not adults or did not agree to the edit, sexual content, impersonation or deception: not allowed.
